Dayspring Montessori’s Summer Camp has officially begun, and all children are super excited to have fun the Montessori way!
The children get ready for summer camp by…
creating a welcome poster on the wall~
“Wow Summer Camp 2014!”
First, let’s see what type of special activities and projects have been going on at Dayspring this month!
An alumni comes to read special books to children.
A parent comes in to do a puppet show, too!
Children jump up as a frog would do~
For projects, children draw and messages on tile.
Or use paint to create cool lines and shapes!
How about learning of the needs of living things…i.e. the Sun!
This projects portrays how the Sun helps create life on Earth.
Also, each child creates a volcano to take home…
and also do bead work to create unique necklaces~
Dayspring Montessori aids in not only fine motor work but also in gross motor skills!
Let’s ride our bicycles!
This child uses all of her coordination and concentration to master riding her bicycle.
How fun! Both are riding at fast speed!
In between, children get to have snack under the cool shade.
Stretching is very important before going in the water.
Run around the circle a few times and then…
jump in the pool! Here’s to a fun swimming time~
Children love to go swimming, especially on a hot day like this!
And balloons!! This activity is a fun way to increase hand-eye coordination skills!
And never forget that Dayspring always incorporates Montessori Method in the morning period. This is so that children continue to develop order, coordination, concentration, and independence in their learning!
Two children work on teen board.
A young 3-year-old learns to sort by number of holes on circle.
In Sensorial area, a young child internalizes different triangular and quad. shapes through Rectangle Box I.
Children also trace and punch to enhance wrist and pincer grip (for future writing development).
Learning the decimal system
Creating a booklet of Parts of Earth
An older student finishes up her Africa map.
And some begin to write journals using the Movable Alphabet Box.
When ready, children are able to do linear counting…even up to 10 cube chain!
With flowers blooming all around, let us continue to create an environment where children can grow to their fullest potential!
